About Me
I like to think of myself as a bit of a 21st century Renaissance woman. Across the course of my life, I've dabbled back and forth across both the arts and the sciences. I have a degree in chemistry and years of experience in academic biomedical research coupled with additional academic training in photography and fine arts with a strong portfolio to back up my experiences in the classroom and in the workforce.
On any given day, I can be found spending quality time with my rescued German Shepherd Dog named Crash, writing a blog entry, hating mornings, mulling a new creative concept or refining an existing idea, and eating chocolate (and the darker, the better). I've probably taken a short break to reheat some pre-cooked meal in the microwave to meet my nutritional needs, and then immediately return to work on a technical writing project and an art project or two. With a camera or two by my side and later within my computer's Photoshop, I am easily engaged.
I still love being involved in team sports, and continue to play both softball and volleyball on competitive levels with players who are often nearly half my age. If it's a "game day", I might grab what is almost considered a "real meal" for lunch with a late afternoon caffeinated beverage for any game scheduled after 8 PM. By natural circadian rhythms, I am a night owl; with traditional work hours of society and the combined effects of aging and an underactive thyroid, my late night energy levels are definitely not what they used to be...
